New Poems Published in The Luna Collective and Sad Girl Review

Check out my latest published poems, “Winter Dandelion” in The Luna Collective’s Winter 2021 zine and “Demi Lovato Sings at the Grammys,” in Sad Girl Review Issue 6: Muse, Heroine, & Fangirl!

Both of these issues ended up looking so beautiful. Be sure to read the entirety of these works of art in my links above. I’m proud my poems have these places to call home. See the poems below!

“Demi Lovato Sings at the Grammys” is definitely one of my more experimental pieces. What do you think? (Be honest with me!)

I remember watching Demi perform her song, “Anyone,” at the 2020 Grammys and her stunning performance lingered in my mind for weeks afterward. I knew I had to write about it. Here is a link to that performance. (For some reason the official video on Demi’s channel is no longer anywhere to be found.)

“Winter Dandelion” is about a literal dandelion I saw sprouting on the sidewalk in the middle of December in below freezing temperatures amid a pile of snow. I thought it was the perfect metaphor for joy growing from sadness.

Am I getting better at describing what my work is about? I’ve always found the actual poems are so much easier to write than the “why” and “how.” Do you feel the same? I’d love to hear.
